Mr. Johnson is a practicing attorney who has advised clients on billion-dollar business deals and conferred with Congress members to advance critical projects. He has taught law school, clerked for a State Supreme Court justice, and advised his clients on how to overcome their most confrontational and challenging problems. The lessons learned from such experiences make his insights practical and helpful.

Mr. Johnson’s law practice focuses on public private partnerships, including municipal bonds. He has served hundreds of local governments in Utah and surrounding states. Mr. Johnson has been an adjunct law professor at the BYU law school, teaching state and local government law.

Eric Johnson has helped finance hundreds of projects from the common place to the extremely complex and difficult, including the federal permitting for a $1.5 billion rail project, and funding to stand up a nuclear research center. Frequently, these financings help his clients advance economic development and enhance fiscal stability. Mr. Johnson has also directed communities to surmount distressed financial situations and defend litigation.

Eric Todd Johnson graduated from Brigham Young University, J.D., magna cum laude, in 1994. He was an editor of the BYU Law Review and was awarded Order of the Coif for top scholastic performance. He received his M.B.A. from Western Washington University.

He has affiliations with the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and the Utah Municipal Attorneys Association. His second Language is Spanish. His distinctions and awards include: Named Utah’s Legal Elite in Government Law, 2008 – present; Former Chair of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, Salt Lake City Chapter; Co-chair annual conference JRCLS 2010; Vice-Chair and member of the JRCLS Religious Freedom Committee 2013 – present.

For community service, Mr. Johnson represented a reformed delinquent youth to expunge his record. He also helped draft the incorporating papers for, and provides legal counsel to the Naatsis`áán Development Association, a non-profit company established under Navajo law that provides support to the Naatsis`áán (Navajo Mountain) chapter of the Navajo Nation. Mr. Johnson also actively provides legal support to other Native American organizations.
